Alaine Williams concentrates her practice in
labor and
employment law. She is one of the leading
experts in Pennsylvania on public employee labor law and drafted and
successfully litigated Pennsylvania's Agency Fee law. Alaine has written
articles on employee rights, constitutional issues, and on race and
gender discrimination and is a frequent lecturer at conferences of the American
and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, The National AFL-CIO, the George Meany Labor Center, Pennsylvania
Bar Institute, AFT Lawyers Conference, AFSCME Educational Conferences, UFCW
Lawyers Conferences, and the Philadelphia Project on Occupational Safety and
Health (PHILAPOSH).
Having a long-standing interest in public service, Alaine
formerly served as the Assistant and Acting Executive Director of the Florida
Commission on Human Relations. She also served in the United States Embassy in
Kabul, Afghanistan in 1975, where she taught a course on the American legal system to
Afghan judges and lawyers.
