Philadelphia union-side labor and employment law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson
is pleased to announce that Partner Stuart W. Davidson
has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Friends of the Yitzhak Rabin Center. Davidson has also served as president of the non-profit organization, which was established in 1997 to support the efforts of the Yitzhak Rabin Center in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The Yitzhak Rabin Center was founded in 1997 in memory of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Israel Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated during a peace rally in Tel Aviv. The Center is dedicated to improving the fabric of Israeli society by reinforcing democratic values, equalizing educational opportunities, promoting tolerance and understanding among Israel’s varied communities and developing leaders who are equipped to confront Israel’s unique challenges. The American Friends of the Yitzhak Rabin Center conducts educational workshops throughout the year and holds fund-raising events to support the Center’s objectives.
“I am proud to assist in promoting Yitzhak Rabin’s ideals and life’s work through my service to the Center,” said Davidson. “The principles of respect, social cohesiveness, democratic values and the rule of law apply across societies, making the Center’s work relevant both in Israel and at home.” Davidson is also a past recipient of the Jewish Labor Committee’s Humanitarian Award.
A long-time labor and employee benefits attorney, Davidson has been involved in representing a wide range of union workers, including musicians, longshoremen, food and commercial workers, machinists, firefighters, police officers, teamsters, football players and many others. His work for public and private-sector unions includes leading contract negotiations, presenting interest and grievance arbitrations, representing employee benefit funds and advising clients on internal union matters. In addition to serving as chief counsel to large regional and local unions along the East and Gulf coasts, Davidson is a frequent lecturer, teacher and author on such issues as ERISA, fiduciary responsibilities, labor law, employment discrimination and related subjects.
A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and John’s Hopkins University, “Best Lawyers in America®” has listed Davidson among the top attorneys in the field of labor and employment law since 1995. Philadelphia Magazine has included him as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® each year since 2004.
