Philadelphia Employment Attorney Patricia Pierce of Willig, Williams & Davidson Elected Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

PHILADELPHIA (June 2010) – Philadelphia union-side labor law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that Partner Patricia V. Pierce, Esq. has been elected a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the College is a professional association of leading labor and employment practitioners nationwide that serves as an intellectual and practical resource for labor and employment attorneys. Fellowship in the College is determined by its Board of Governors and awarded to outstanding professionals who have made a sustained contribution to the practice of labor and employment law. Fellows are also recognized for their integrity, professionalism and character. Pierce will be inducted as a Fellow on Nov. 6, 2010, in Chicago, Ill., during the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section’s Continuing Legal Education Conference.
The chair of Willig, Williams & Davidson’s Employment and Complex Litigation Practice, Pierce has been practicing labor and employment law for nearly three decades. She represents individuals and groups of workers who have suffered discrimination and harassment in the workplace. Her experience includes litigating individual and class action employment and employee benefit matters in state and federal courts in California, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Among her many career highlights, Pierce has secured multi-million dollar verdicts on behalf of a sales manager who was sexually harassed at work and against an Ivy League university on behalf of a former faculty member.

A frequent lecturer and author for the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Pierce is well known for her skillful trial work. In addition to her active practice, she teaches trial advocacy for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, which named her a distinguished faculty member. She was a visiting professor at Santa Clara University School of Law from 1994 through 1996. Pierce has served on the National Employment Lawyers Association Class Action and Sexual Harassment committees since 1995 and sits on the Board of Directors of the Defender Association of Philadelphia. “Best Lawyers in America” has listed Pierce as one of the field’s top labor and employment lawyers since 1995. Philadelphia Magazine has included her as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer™ since 2004.
