Mark Featherman
Mark Featherman is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Willig, Williams & Davidson. Mark counsels and represents unions and individuals in a wide range of labor and employment matters arising under state and federal statutes governing collective bargaining, union representation, wage and hour laws and employment discrimination.
Mark handles all aspects of litigation, arbitration and collective bargaining for his clients, regularly appearing before state and federal courts, administrative tribunals and labor arbitrators.
Mark finds assisting working individuals with their legal needs extremely gratifying. He has, for example, won numerous arbitration awards reinstating employees to their jobs after they were unjustly terminated. Mark also successfully appealed a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court decision regarding an arbitrator’s authority to interpret the just cause provision of a collective bargaining agreement, resulting in an important win for his union client before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Mark’s professional experience also includes appearing before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and other tribunals on behalf of individuals and unions; negotiating collective bargaining agreements; litigating matters such as Fair Labor Standard Act and Title VII disputes; and advising clients regarding ADA, FMLA, Title VII, contract interpretation and other issues.
To further enhance his skills as a labor and employment practitioner, Mark earned a LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997. There he received the Thomas Bradbury Chetwood Prize for the most distinguished academic performance in his graduating class. He was also honored as an outstanding student of practice and procedure before the NLRB. As a law student at California Western School of Law, Mark was a staff writer and editor for the California Western Law Review and a member of the Traynor Moot Court Team. Prior to beginning his legal career, Mark was a reporter and editor for The Forward, a weekly newspaper published in New York.
