Willig Williams & Davidson Lawyers Pongracz, Williams, and Lassen Meet Gay-Marriage Hero Mary L. Bonauto at Rutgers-Camden
February 19, 2016
Willig, Williams & Davidson labor law attorneys Alaine S. Williams, Nancy B. G. Lassen and Louise “Wendy” Pongracz attended the annual Rutgers University School of Law lecture in Camden, New Jersey presented by veteran civil rights lawyer Mary L. Bonauto who discussed the constitutional strategy in legalizing same sex marriage and argued the case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Bonauto's first-ever argument before the U.S. Supreme Court yielded a historic ruling that secured the freedom to marry for LGBT couples nationwide in 2015.
On Tuesday February 1, 2016, she delivered the annual Rutgers Law School State Constitutional Law Lecture to a crowd of about 150 in the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center's multipurpose room who gave her a standing ovation as Distinguished Professor Robert Williams welcomed her to the lectern.
