James Glowacki acts on behalf of unions in labor law matters ranging from disciplinary proceedings to collective bargaining regarding terms and conditions of employment. His work includes assisting both public and private sector unions in all aspects of labor law.  On a pro bono basis, James has drafted no-cost wills and other estate documents for first responders in Camden County, New Jersey through Wills for Heroes.

Having worked as an associate in a New Jersey boutique firm, James is also experienced in general civil litigation, contracts, wills and estates, real estate, land use, criminal defense, and governmental law. During law school, he clerked at a law firm in Flemington, New Jersey, and worked as a court-appointed mediator of landlord/tenant disputes at the Philadelphia Housing Court.

WHAT INSPIRES ME ABOUT MY WORK

“I’m inspired by my ability to make a difference for our clients—hard-working men and women—when they are treated unfairly or illegally at work. I also draw on my upbringing. I’m from a proud union family and realize the importance of righting wrongs and standing up for those who need help.”

AWAY FROM WORK

“When I’m off duty, I’m outdoors. I like camping, long-distance hiking, biking, environmentalism and nature. I grew up in a rural area, so escaping from the city on weekends appeals to me.”

  • Pursued charges of unfair labor practices against employers before the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board (PLRB), New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC), and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
  • Successfully represented bargaining unit members in arbitration and before the Philadelphia Civil Service Commission.
  • Obtained reinstatement for bargaining unit members wrongfully terminated in violation of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
  • Advocated to increase benefits and improve working conditions for Police Officers before Act 111 Interest Arbitration panels.
  • Obtained unemployment compensation benefits for wrongfully denied employees before the State Unemployment Compensation Department.
