Certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law in Pennsylvania, Paul M. Della Franco understands that a job is much more than just income. A job often conveys a sense of identity and value, so workers who are injured lose more than income; they lose a part of themselves.
As one of the inaugural class of attorneys in Pennsylvania to be certified as a workers’ compensation law specialist by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Paul focuses his practice on ensuring that injured workers receive all the benefits to which they are entitled, for as long as they are entitled to receive them.
As a former defense litigator, Paul is familiar with employer strategies and uses this knowledge to develop legal approaches that offer his clients the best opportunity to prevail in disputes. He has successfully argued precedent-setting cases before the Commonwealth Court and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and he personally challenged the Commonwealth in an important Right to Know / Freedom of Information case.
In addition to representing individuals in workers’ compensation matters, Paul is deeply knowledgeable about Pennsylvania’s Heart and Lung Act, as well as Pennsylvania’s Act 534 and Act 632 benefits. His understanding of how these various disability programs interact enables him to offer highly qualified counsel to clients regarding these distinct but related programs.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University, Paul was awarded a Ph.D. scholarship to study criminology / criminal justice at the University of Delaware. He then returned to Villanova Law School to earn his law degree. While at Villanova Law School, Paul was one of the founding members of the school’s Homeless Advocacy Project.
WHAT INSPIRES ME ABOUT MY WORK
“The concept of work is noble, and workers are valuable members of society who should be treated with respect. To our clients, their jobs are more than simply their livelihoods. I’m passionate about representing individuals who’ve been deprived of their ability to work, even if only for a short period of time. Our singular goal is to ensure that our clients receive the financial support to which they are entitled and the medical treatment they need so they can return to the jobs they value.”
AWAY FROM WORK
"In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, reading, and spending time with my wife and two sons. And, despite some tough years, I am and always will be an avid Phillies fan. I have been since birth. It’s in my blood.”
