May 8, 2018

During the discussion, Hancock shared his insight on how the PHRC works. Hancock served as Assistant Chief Counsel for the commission for nearly a decade; the commission is charged with enforcing the state’s laws that prohibit discrimination.

NBC investigators found that the average time it takes for the PHRC to close a case is 500 days. Hancock attributed the long wait time to the fact that “the commission’s staffing levels have dwindled while the caseload has remained the same.”
