Willig, Williams & Davidson Adds Labor Attorney to Team

PHILADELPHIA (September 2022) – Pennsylvania labor, employment and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that Joseph Salamon has joined the firm as an associate. Salamon will focus his practice on labor law.

“Joseph is committed to advocating for workers’ dignity and respect in the workplace,” said Managing Partner Deborah R. Willig. “We are pleased to welcome him to our team of attorneys who are fighting for fair pay and benefits, safe working conditions, and equitable treatment for all workers.”

While a law student at Temple University Beasley School of Law, Salamon worked with a variety of organizations whose goal it is to achieve better and safer working conditions for employees. As a legal intern at the Office of the Solicitor at the United States Department of Labor, he made recommendations for agency action in claims filed under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and drafted memoranda on nationwide injunctions and jury verdict form requirements in Fair Labor Standards Act claims.

He also served as an intern at the Social Justice Lawyering Clinic, where he assisted workers with wage theft claims against their employers. While interning with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, he worked on federal workplace disputes in which the EEOC was pursuing legal action on behalf of employees who had been discriminated against.

“My mother was a union schoolteacher, so the importance of a strong and enforced contract is not an abstract idea to me,” said Salamon. “I always knew that I wanted to practice labor law to ensure that labor unions and the hard-working people they represent receive the protections and benefits they deserve.”

Salamon earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2022. He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University in 2011.
