SEPTA Background Checks Violate Federal and State Laws, According to Attorneys
A federal lawsuit alleges Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) willfully violates federal and state laws when conducting criminal background checks of prospective employees, a coalition of legal advocates including Willig, Williams & Davidson's Ryan A. Hancock. Filed in federal court in Philadelphia, the class action accuses SEPTA, the nation's sixth-largest public transportation system, of routinely rejecting job applicants based on information contained in reports obtained from background check companies.

Deborah R. Willig Appointed to Platform Committee of DNC
We are proud to announce that the Pennsylvania Democratic Party has appointed Willig, Williams & Davidson Managing Partner Deborah R. Willig to the Platform Committee for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. One of the convention’s three standing committees, the Platform Committee is responsible for drafting a proposed national platform for approval at the Democratic National Convention, to be held in Philadelphia July 25 to 28. Willig will attend the Platform Committee’s meeting in Orlando, Florida, on July 8 and 9, one of four public forums being held nationwide to enable more people to participate in the platform process.

Philadelphia Labor and Employment Lawyer Elected President of Philadelphia Chapter of LERA
Willig, Williams & Davidson partner Amy L. Rosenberger has been elected president of the Philadelphia chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA). Founded in 1947, LERA is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization that draws its members from academia, management, labor and other interested parties. Rosenberger represents labor unions and individual employees before state and federal courts and in arbitrations, negotiations and administrative proceedings.
