Deanna Krokos stands with unions and working people, fighting tirelessly for fair wages and working conditions. She focuses her practice on labor and employee benefits, using the protections of the law to ensure workers and their families are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
As a lawyer and legal scholar, Deanna has immersed herself in labor and employment law, advocating for workers’ rights and equal treatment for all. While a professor at Brooklyn Law School, she conducted research regarding labor law and ERISA benefits. She also served as a Peggy Browning Fund Fellow at the National Employment Law Project, where she researched and analyzed legal and policy developments that impact employment law and worked on matters related to independent contractor misclassification.
Deanna has consistently fought for fundamental rights for all people, using her legal skills to work on pro bono civil rights matters and prisoners’ rights litigation. Prior to her legal career, she examined how laws and government decisions shape people’s lives at Policy Matters Ohio. As a research assistant, she focused on employment, inequality, and public benefits, and she co-authored a report identifying social barriers to health and proposing legislative and regulatory solutions.
