Bloomberg Law Covers Amazon Drivers’ $1.47 Million Settlement

Bloomberg Law recently shared the news of a $1.47 million wage settlement in a lawsuit brought by a group of Amazon drivers for Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) violations. The drivers are represented by Ryan A. Hancock, of Willig, Williams, & Davidson, along with attorneys from Berger Montague PC, Lichten & Liss-Riordan PC, and Varnell & Warwick PA.

Magistrate Judge David A. Baker of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that the settlement deal is “fair and reasonable” with some modifications. The deal allows the parties to amend or modify its terms after it is approved, subject to court approval.

The drivers collectively sued Amazon and third-party delivery service providers JSTC LLC, AG Plus Express LLC, Commercial Express Inc., Drop a Box Inc., and COEI LLC for FLSA overtime violations in 2019.
