DHS Proposes Minimum Staffing Standards for Nursing Homes​

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to establish minimum staffing requirements for nursing homes. Acknowledging that staffing is linked to pay, DHS said adequate compensation helps create a stable workforce with better qualified employees, lower turnover, and better care. How to Determine if an Employee Benefits Plan Discriminates on the Basis of Gender Identity

We are pleased to announce that Samuel H. Datlof has joined the firm’s award-winning labor law practice. Sam comes to the firm after serving as the Lead Employment Attorney at Justice at Work Pennsylvania, where he advocated for immigrant workers. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Sam spent two years as a federal judicial law clerk, first in the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and then in the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Attorney to Serve on Exec Committee of PBA’s Young Lawyers Division​

Associate Felicia Carter has been selected to serve as one of seven attorneys on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. The committee directs the business and activities of the division’s more than 2,900 members, including oversight of 20 committees. Felicia will serve a three-year term.
