What Is a Notice of Temporary Compensation Payable?

When an employee is injured at work and the employer is notified, the employer must respond within 21 days with one of three notices: Compensation Payable, Temporary Compensation Payable, or Denial. The Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act permits issuing a Notice of Temporary Compensation Payable (NTCP) to start payments without admitting liability while investigating the claim.
