Details: Labor lawyer Michelle “Micky” Devitt will participate in a session titled “National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) history, practice, and updates” during the Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA) Labor & Employment Symposium 2025, a full-day, virtual event featuring timely, practical insights from leading practitioners and experts in the field.

Devitt will be joined by NLRB Regional Director Christy Kwon and labor and employment attorney Jeff Bosley. The panel will explore the history and purpose of the NLRB and the National Labor Relations Act, as well as practice points for union and management perspectives. They also will discuss how the current political climate is affecting the NLRB and its work.

Before joining the firm, she served as the Legal and Policy Coordinator for Heartland Workers Center in Omaha, Nebraska, lobbying for workers’ rights, voting rights, immigrant rights, and poverty relief legislation. She also provided legal and strategic support to workers organizing for better wages and working conditions in Nebraska. Prior to that, Devitt served as an attorney for the NLRB for more than a decade, conducting investigations for unfair labor practice cases and participating in successful settlement negotiations with employers and unions.

Other topics during the ACBA Labor & Employment Symposium include anti-discrimination law in a shifting legal landscape and immigration issues in the workplace.
