Willig, Williams & Davidson Attorney Quoted on Wage Theft Case

Hancock Wage Theft

Ryan Allen Hancock was recently quoted in an article that discusses the Philadelphia Wage Theft Case that rewarded victims up to $48,000 each.

After approximately two years, a wage and hour lawsuit filed by a Willig, Williams & Davidson lawyer has come to a verdict. Mitchell Goldberg, U.S. District Judge, sided with the onetime restaurant workers ordering the defendants to $135,000+ in back pay, liquidated damages, and attorney fees. The class action lawsuit was filed in 2018.

Philadelphia employment and labor attorney Ryan Allen Hancock represented the plaintiffs in this case and was recently quoted by WHYY where he discusses his opinion on the recent victory. “This is a great victory for low-wage working people whose wages were unlawfully stolen from them.”

Hancock is Of Counsel and chair of Willig, Williams & Davidson’s Employment Group where he counsels and represents clients in all matters related to their employment. He is the author of The Double Bind: Obstacles to Employment and Resources for Survivors of the Criminal Justice System, 15 U. Pa. J.L. & Soc. Change 515 2011-2012.
