Louise “Wendy” F. Pongracz will present on the topic of health benefits

Details: Employee benefits attorney Louise “Wendy” F. Pongracz will present at the 68th Annual Employee Benefits Conference of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Entitled “Health Care Legal and Legislative Update,” the presentation will focus on changes in healthcare benefits in light of recent legislative developments. Pongracz will discuss coverage of abortion services in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. She will also provide an overview of recent legislation regarding surprise billing, medical cannabis, prescription drug pricing, and insulin cost sharing and the impact it will have on employee benefits. The presentation will be moderated by Gregory E. Floyd, President of Teamsters Local 237 Welfare Fund.

Pongracz has represented health benefits plans for more than 30 years. She represents large and small single- and multi-employer group health plans in the public and private sectors. Her practice has included assisting fund clients at every step, from establishing plans through termination and merger. This includes drafting and revising foundational and operational documents and advising clients on all aspects of compliance with federal and state laws (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable federal tax requirements). She has negotiated on behalf of clients with medical, prescription, and other benefits providers as well as with professional providers.

She speaks frequently on compliance issues, fiduciary obligations, and emerging health benefits issues for state and local bar foundations and other organizations.
