Willig, Williams & Davidson Attorney to Discuss Retirement Plan Issues at Advanced Trustees and Administrators Institute

James S. Beall will present on recent trends in retirement planning

Details: Attorney James S. Beall will discuss the latest updates in retirement planning during a two-part panel discussion at the Advanced Trustees and Administrators Institute, presented by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. The discussion, titled “Retirement Plan Issues and Trends,” will cover such retirement considerations as ARPA zone status, special financial assistance for ME plans, understanding VAPs, recent developments with the OCIO model, and withdrawal liability. Beall will be joined by James J. Donofrio, Senior Actuary at Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, and the panel will be facilitated by Joseph F. Hicks, Jr., Senior Vice President at CBIZ Retirement Plan Services.

Beall is known for his skill in representing a wide variety of public and private-sector single and multiemployer funds on comprehensive employee benefit and tax matters. His work focuses on the firm’s joint labor-management pension and welfare fund clients, as well as its labor union clients. He offers counsel and guidance to help ensure that union benefit plans are as well funded and secure as possible. On behalf of these clients, Jim interacts regularly with the U.S. Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. As part of his employee benefit work, he serves as special counsel to a large international union, advising it on complex internal benefit matters and providing representation in national benefit-related negotiations.
