Details: Willig, Williams & Davidson partners James S. Beall and Wendy F. Pongracz will serve as speakers for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans 67th annual meeting.

Beall’s session, “General Fiduciary Training,” will explore:

  • The difference between settlor and fiduciary decisions
  • Potential pitfalls
  • Best practices
  • Changing tools of board meetings
  • How trustees should prepare for meetings

Pongracz will co-present a session on the impacts of medical and recreational cannabis on employee benefits plans. Topics will include:

  • Effects of increasing legalization by states of medical cannabis on health and welfare funds
  • Whether plans have added medical cannabis as a benefit
  • The pros and cons of recreational marijuana legalization
  • The Biden Administration’s stance on cannabis legalization
