Willig, Williams & Davidson Partner Presents at AFT Pennsylvania Convention

PHILADELPHIA (July 2019) – Pennsylvania labor, employment, workers’ compensation and family law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that partner Lauren Hoye recently spoke at the 2019 biennial convention of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Pennsylvania.

Hoye discussed developments in the legal landscape in the year since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Janus case that teacher and other public employee unions cannot collect fees from nonmembers. This year’s AFT PA Convention was held June 28 through June 30 at the Hilton Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia.

A partner in Willig, Williams & Davidson’s labor department, Hoye represents labor unions and individual employees before state and federal courts in arbitrations, negotiations and administrative proceedings. She also regularly provides counseling and training to her clients on public and private sector labor law, as well as employment law and employment disputes.

Since 2014, Hoye has been named a Pennsylvania Rising Star each year by Thomson Reuters as part of its Super Lawyers rating program, an honor reserved for no more than 2.5 percent of the state’s lawyers. A graduate of Grinnell College, Hoye then went on to earn a master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis and a law degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
