Willig, Williams & Davidson Welcomes New Labor Attorney

PHILADELPHIA (February 2019) – Philadelphia labor, employment, and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that attorney Joseph D. Richardson has joined the firm. He focuses his practice on labor law.

Before joining the firm, Richardson spent seven years as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in San Francisco and Philadelphia. As an NLRB attorney, he investigated unfair labor practice charges and represented the board in administrative hearings and injunction proceedings in U.S. District Court. He also represented his co-workers as an NLRB union local president and served as a pro bono arbitrator for denials of service at homeless shelters in San Francisco.

Richardson graduated magna cum laude from American University’s Washington College of Law, where he was an editor on the Administrative Law Review. He is a member of the Order of the Coif and a recipient of the Mussey Prize and the Wallace L. Duncan Award for Outstanding Scholarship in the Field of Administrative Law. As a law student, he defended low-income tenants facing eviction proceedings in Washington D.C. Superior Court. 

Before attending law school, Richardson served five years in the Marine Corps, where he learned Arabic and was selected for an elite Marine reconnaissance unit. He participated in the Iraq invasion in 2003 and deployed to Afghanistan as a civilian in 2004 and 2007.
