Willig, Williams & Davidson’s Richard Poulson Speaks at National Academy of Arbitrators Annual Meeting & Education Conference

Panel discussion focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion

PHILADELPHIA (May 2022) – Philadelphia labor, employment, and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that partner Richard G. Poulson recently participated in a panel discussion about diversity, equity, and inclusion at the National Academy of Arbitrators 75th Annual Meeting & Education Conference.

The discussion, entitled “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in Practice,” focused on unions’ and employers’ commitments to DE&I and how it has affected their internal practices and retention. Panelists also discussed the impact of DE&I initiatives on arbitrator selection.

Poulson serves as general counsel to a large roster of public-safety and civilian unions and helps unions to negotiate and enforce strong collective bargaining agreements for their members and their families. Through collective bargaining, interest arbitration and the legislative processes, Poulson has secured bargaining, safe-staffing, disability, and equipment protections for public safety workers throughout Pennsylvania.

The National Academy of Arbitrators is a not-for-profit honorary and professional organization of arbitrators in the United States and Canada. The Academy sponsors activities designed to improve general understanding of the nature of arbitration and its use as a means of settling labor and employment disputes.
