Labor Law Attorney Nancy B. G. Lassen Interviewed in Story on Local Firm Hit with Whistleblower Suit
April 5, 2016
Willig, Williams & Davidson labor law attorney and partner Nancy B. G. Lassen was interviewed by the Bucks County Courier Times for a story published March 27, 2016 regarding a suburban Philadelphia company that is the subject of a whistleblower lawsuit by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Federal investigators say Lloyd Industries’ Montgomery Township headquarters is anything but safe for employees. Since 2000, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued nearly 70 citations against the company for safety violations, and the company has paid nearly $180,000 in OSHA fines.
"OSHA, as an administrative agency, does not have the resources to try as many cases as need to be tried, do as many inspections as need to be done, and stick to their guns in trials to ensure that appropriate sanctions are actually imposed," said Lassen.
"Certain elements in Congress have decided that we need smaller government, but the very constituents of people who are making those decisions are probably the ones who are most at risk, and are paying the price of inadequate or lax enforcement," Lassen added.
