Willig, Williams & Davidson Partner's Arguments Highlighted in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

April 12, 2017

Richard G. Poulson was featured in the recent article “Pittsburgh, police union spar over wages in appellate court” by Paula Reed Ward. The union is concerned about wage increases and is appealing an arbitration ruling from July 2016. Poulson is the attorney for the Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1.

As described in the article, Poulson presented the union’s case to a panel of seven judges of the PA Commonwealth Court on April 5. He explained that the city has failed to increase the wages for the police union and stay competitive with other Allegheny County police departments despite improved financial conditions in Pittsburgh. According to the union, the wage gap has caused officers to leave the city’s police department.
