Philadelphia Family Law Attorney Kathleen Tana of Willig, Williams & Davidson to Serve on Executive Committee of Nicholas A. Cipriani Family Law American Inn of Court

August 30, 2011

Philadelphia family law and domestic relations attorney Kathleen M. Tana of the Philadelphia labor and employment law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson has been invited to join the Executive Committee of the Nicholas A. Cipriani Family Law American Inn of Court. As a member of the Executive Committee, Tana will serve as the Inn’s Membership Chair. She has been a member of the Inn since 2007. Named for esteemed Philadelphia Family Court Judge Nicholas A. Cipriani, the Inn works to promote professionalism, ethical responsibility, camaraderie and education among members of the bench and bar.

“I am honored to be invited to join the Nicholas A. Cipriani Family Law American Inn of Court Executive Committee. I look forward to working with the superb group of attorneys and judges who comprise the committee in furtherance of the Inn’s worthy goals,” stated Tana.

Tana is an associate in the Legal Services Department of Willig, Williams & Davidson, where she focuses her practice in domestic relations and family law. She counsels and represents working individuals and union members in divorce, support, custody, equitable distribution, adoption and domestic violence matters. Through Willig, Williams & Davidson’s Legal Services Department, Tana takes particular pride in providing affordable, high-quality legal representation to individuals who might otherwise be unable to afford legal counsel. She also enjoys providing pro bono legal services to animal rescue organizations and serving as a volunteer attorney for the Senior Law Center in Philadelphia.

In 2010, Tana successfully represented an elderly client of the Senior Law Center in a protracted custody matter and was able to secure, for the senior, legal and physical custody of a 10-year-old child who had been abandoned by his mother. Tana spent more than 100 hours asserting her client’s right to custody before the trial court and on appeal before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. In so doing, Tana protected the best interests of the child, ensuring that he would remain in a stable, secure, permanent home with the only caregiver he had ever known.

Tana received her juris doctor degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1985. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Adelphi University in 1982, graduating magna cum laude and receiving departmental honors in history.
